Collection: Abiezer Agudelo

Abiezer Agudelo was born in Trujillo, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, in 1964. His artistic practice is recognized for exploring androgyny, identity, and the universal dimensions of the human experience through painting, drawing, and works that move between two- and three-dimensional formats.

His visual language is rooted in Expressionism, characterized by a loose yet confident line, expressive forms, and a strong sense of movement. Through the human figure, Agudelo examines ambiguity, individuality, and the tensions that shape contemporary identity.

Over the course of his career, his work has received recognition and has been presented in important national exhibitions and artistic events. His practice reflects a continuous process of experimentation and transformation, expanding beyond traditional formats while maintaining a consistent interest in the figure and its symbolic possibilities.

Agudelo’s work also carries a critical dimension, questioning established perceptions of art and the way artistic expression is received within Colombian society. This combination of formal exploration, social reflection, and expressive freedom defines a practice in constant evolution.
